Photographic Enforcement Device Unit

The Photographic Enforcement Device Unit which operate under the aegis Traffic Branch is based at  Samlo Tower, Aurelle  Feillafe Street, Port Louis  and is responsible for the management of speed violations captured by fixed speed cameras.        

Payment of Photographic Enforcement Device Notice (PEDN)

A person served with a PEDN is required to pay the fine within 28 days from the date of issue of the PEDN at any District Court. He/she may   authorize in writing an adult to pay the fine on his/her behalf with the relevant documents (original).

Reprocessing of PEDN

Where a notice is served to a person or company, the owner or director if he is not the driver he should filled in the Part B of the notice and must return the notice (full) to the Police within 14 Days according to Law from Date of issue so that Police may served the notice anew the driver mentioned in part B.

Viewing of Photographic Evidence

The Photographic Evidence may be viewed by the owners or drivers  on written application made to the Commissioner of Police  within 14 days from  the date of issue of the PEDN and against a payment of prescribed  fee of Rs 100 between  09.00 hrs to 14.30 hrs on weekdays  and from 09.00 hrs to 11.00 hrs on Saturdays.
