INFORMATION<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Any person or representative of any company,\u00a0 who wishes to apply for a new or to renew a Private Security Service Provider Licence, shall have to make an application to the Commissioner of Police in compliance with The Private Security Service Act 2004.\u00a0<\/p>

Who may apply:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

l\u00a0\u00a0Any company (duly registered with the Registrar of Association) whose Director or Legal Representative is 18 years and above, who\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0is medically fit;\u00a0<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0has the appropriate training and experience in the field of security;\u00a0<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0has a clean criminal record.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

How to apply:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Applicant\u00a0 should phone on 214 1387 (Police Prosecution Office \u2013 Private Security Section) for an appointment.\u00a0 On receipt of an agreed appointed date, applicant should call in person at the Sterling House, 10th<\/sup>\u00a0Floor, Lislet Geoffroy Street, Port-Louis, to submit his application.\u00a0<\/p>

Required Documents pertaining to the Company and Company Director\/Legal Representative<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Applicable for New Application and Renewal)<\/strong><\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Two recent passport size photographs;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Birth Certificate; (original + a certified true copy)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Marriage Certificate; (original + a certified true copy – applicable to married woman only)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0National Identity Card; (original + a certified true copy)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0A copy of Certificate on incorporation (if applicable) with names and addresses of the Board of Directors (original + a certified true copy)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0A copy of a recent Certificate of Morality for all members of the Board of Directors (original + a certified true copy)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Original of medical certificate as to his\/her fitness to operate a private security service (name should be clearly written by Doctor as per NIC with NIC Number and for married woman, maiden name to be inserted);<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Original of Security deposited (when applicable)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Certificate as to his\/her experience and training in the field of security<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Report that he\/she has training officer\/s for training of security guards and Training Centre<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0A written letter from training officer\/s certifying that he\/they will act as trainer for the company with a copy of his\/their Trainer\u2019s Licence.<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Development permit of the place of business from Municipality\/District Council with mention that same is to be used for private security service provider (original + a certified true copy);<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Trade Fee Licence (when applicable \u2013 original + a certified true copy)<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

(Applicable for New Application)<\/strong><\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Site Plan of the place of business (applicable for new application);<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Photo \u2013 General and close view of location and building (optional)<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Applicable for Renewal)<\/strong><\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Return of security guards employed by the company during the previous year as per format (available at Sterling House, 10th<\/sup>\u00a0Floor)<\/p>

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0List of sites and their exact address, where the company has provided its service for the previous year;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Required Documents to collect Private Security Service Provider Licence:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Applicant\/Liaison officer who has been informed that his Private Security Service Provider Licence\u00a0 has been approved, should call in person at the Police Prosecution Office (Private Security Section) situated at Sterling House, 10th<\/sup>\u00a0Floor, Lislet Geoffroy Street, Port-Louis with his\/her NIC and Rs 10 000\/- for payment of his Provider Licence. Validity of Private Security Service Provider Licence<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

A Private Security Service Provider Licence\u00a0<\/strong>is valid for a period of one year as from the specific date mentioned\u00a0 therein.\u00a0 Renewal of Private Security Service Provider Licence should be made\u00a0<\/strong>not later than 21 days before the expiry date.\u200b<\/p>
